Shaw Volume Control Discs are a very simple and cost effective way to practice quietly. ‘VCDs’ are non-marking pads that simply drop on to your kit to keep the same feel but reduce the volume to practice level.

Sets include 3 tom head mutes and a 14” snare head mute, as well as a set of cymbal mutes (2 overhanging mutes for cymbals & 1 for a hi-hat, as well as an ‘inner disc’ used between the hi-hat cymbals) and a bass drum mute. The heavy-duty stick-on, re-usable bass drum mute fits any size kick drum and is suitable for single or double pedals. All pads are also available individually as replacements, or for larger or non-standard setups:
